Annealing

Annealing

Annealing is the process of “softening” steel to make it more ductile and workable. The heat treatment consists of raising the temperature of the steel above the critical temperature and maintaining it until an Austenite or Austenite-Cementite microstructure is formed. It is then cooled uniformly in a controlled furnace over a few hours. Apart from improved ductility and workability annealing also has the ability to relieve internal stresses.

Donhad annealing facilities are not generally used for our manufactured products, however offered as a service to external clients demanding our capacity.
