Ultrasonic Boltstress is a non-destructive test to measure stress in bolts using ultrasound waves. Application of Boltstress ultrasonics include mills, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, turbines and valves whereby joints are coupled under tension or experience elongation. At Donhad, Boltstress Ultrasonics is available as an option during the sales process. Boltstress measurements (G5 Bolt stress meter) start with an initial measurement on the selected products prior to shipment, a second measurement is taken and compared to the initial during installation to determine the adequacy of the joint coupling. Regular measurements after installation can also be employed as a form of preventative maintenance.
