Tensile Testing

A tensile test, also known as tension test, is probably the most fundamental type of mechanical test that can be performed on a material. Properties that are directly measured via a tensile test are ultimate tensile strength, maximum elongation, and reduction in area. From these measurements, the following properties can also be determined: Young’s modulus, Poisson’s ratio, yield strength, and toughness. Donhad is accredited by NATA to perform tensile testing to AS1391, ASTM E8M and ISO 6892-1.
